Finding high-quality resources is essential to make your final result look good. There are a lot of sites that are selling things like Photoshop brushes, textures and patterns. And that is great, but you should remember that there are also tons of free stuff right in front of you!

You should also keep an eye out for big design blogs with their monthly round-ups. Here you will find plenty of good stuff that you can use.

Personally, I think many tutorials published nowadays are just plain dull. Most of them does not add anything new to the design community. This by using the same brushes, same techniques and poor explanations.
